Water Problems

S.Q. Consultants were asked to investigate cause of water problems in a house. A contractor had already been to the site and told the client that the foundation walls had to be demolished because they were damaged due to water intrusion.
Previously another contractor had placed drain tiles on the inside at a cost of several thousand dollars.
Our investigation revealed that even though the walls showed signs of deterioration they were still repairable. They were slightly bowed with some hairline cracks.
Problems to the foundation walls were caused by bad grading on the outside.
Client who was retired with limited amount of finances was told to improve the grading tuck point, the cracks and remove a couple of trees near the foundation.
This helped the client save on the finances and stabilize the house.
